Catholic School Council Letter to the Community
Posted on 06/25/2026

Dear Parents and Guardians of St. Thérèse of Lisieux,

The Catholic School Council would like to extend our sincere thanks for your continued support and involvement throughout the school year. Your generosity, participation, and commitment to our school community have helped make the 2025–2026 school year a tremendous success.

This year, our fundraising initiatives continued to thrive, particularly through the ongoing success of our weekly Pizza Lunch program. Thanks to the strong participation of parents and guardians, we were able to raise significant funds that directly supported student programs and enhanced the school experience for all.

The funds raised allowed the Catholic School Council to contribute to numerous school enhancements and student supports. We were pleased with the success of the Junglesport at the beginning of the school year and to introduction of a Harvey’s Lunch in May. Additional contributions included student agendas, spirit shirts, an outdoor basketball net, offset bus transportation for field trips, classroom supplies, sacramental gifts, and a graduation photo booth for our graduating students.

Throughout the year, we also had the opportunity to bring our school community together through a variety of special events, including Pancake Tuesday, BBQ Hot Dog Day, Movie Night, the Halloween Groove-a-thon, and Advent Night. These events provided students and families with memorable experiences while strengthening our sense of community.

Parent Council remained committed to recognizing and enriching student achievement. We were proud to sponsor two students to attend CYO Camp Marydale this summer, as well as two graduating St. Thérèse of Lisieux students. We also sponsored one graduating student from St. Thomas More and one graduating student from Bishop Tonnos in recognition of their accomplishments and future success.

Giving back to the community continues to be an important part of our mission. This year, we donated ten percent of our fundraising proceeds to several deserving organizations, including Good Shepherd, McMaster Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Aid Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the teachers, staff, and students of St. Thérèse of Lisieux for their ongoing support, enthusiasm, and partnership throughout the year. We would also like to offer special recognition to our Grade 8 parent volunteers. Your generosity, dedication, and countless hours of service have helped strengthen our school community. As you and your children move on to the next stage of your educational journey, we wish you every success, happiness, and blessing in the years ahead.

As we look forward to the 2026–2027 school year, we remain committed to providing enriching opportunities and memorable experiences for our students. We warmly invite all parents and guardians to attend our monthly meetings and encourage anyone interested in becoming more involved to consider joining Catholic School Council in September. New ideas, fresh perspectives, and volunteer support are always welcomed and greatly appreciated.

With gratitude,

Nelia Lo Russo- Chair
