Student Medical Conditions & Plan of Care
At St. Therese of Lisieux, the health and safety of our students is a top priority. We are committed to working closely with families to ensure that students with medical conditions receive the care and support they need during the school day.
🩺 Notifying the School of a Medical Condition
Parents/guardians are asked to inform the school as soon as possible if their child has a medical condition that may require support at school (e.g., asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes, epilepsy, etc.).
📝 Co-Creating a Plan of Care
Once a medical condition is identified, parents/guardians are expected to work with the school principal (or designate), and in consultation with school staff (as appropriate). to co-create a Plan of Care. This plan outlines the necessary supports, emergency procedures, and responsibilities to ensure your child’s well-being.
🔁 When to Communicate
To ensure we have the most up-to-date information, this process should take place:
- At the time of registration
- Annually during the first week of school
- Any time a child is diagnosed with a medical condition or returns to school following a diagnosis
We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school community safe and informed.
